Big theft in Housing Board Colony, including Mangalsutra crosses Rs 10 lakh

Durg. A case of theft of Rs 10 lakh has come to light from a house in Bhilai Housing Board. The thieves broke two shelves kept in the house and ran away with Rs 15,000 in cash and gold and silver jewellery. The thieves took away the last memento of the woman’s husband, her mangalsutra. The matter is of Jamul police station area.

According to Jamul police station, the theft incident took place in a 32-acre residential area adjacent to the Housing Board Colony. Rambha Singh, who lives here, has lodged a complaint in the Jamul police station. He told that on January 22, he locked the house and went to Durg with his family to attend the wedding.

Rambha Singh told that they had left at 6 pm on 22 January and returned the next day at 7-8 am on 23 January. When he returned, he saw that the back door of the house was open and all the stuff was scattered inside. Rambha Singh’s 17-year-old son Abhishek told that the thief took away all the earnings of his late father Mahendra Singh. Mother had kept all the jewelery given by her safely. He told that he, his grandmother, mother, sister Aditi live in the house. After father, only mother takes care of the house.
