Bhopal: Health alert in BMC, more than 300 employees are suffering from BP and diabetes

Madhya Pradesh : A recent health check-up conducted at the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) has revealed that 337 of its employees are suffering from health issues like high blood pressure (BP) and diabetes. The medical check-up conducted at various municipal offices in the city tested 960 employees, of whom 235 were diagnosed with BP and 102 with diabetes. According to BMC officials, the check-up was part of health camps organised by the corporation’s in-house clinic. These camps were held at several locations, including the municipal corporation headquarters (ISBT), Zone 3, Traffic Park (Zone 7) and Bairagarh zone office at DIG Bungalow Square. The highest number of cases were reported at the BMC headquarters at ISBT, where 341 men and 164 women were screened. Of these, 136 employees were found to have high blood pressure and 62 were found to have diabetes. At the DIG Bungalow camp, 136 employees were screened – including 49 women and 87 men – in which 14 cases of blood pressure and 8 of diabetes were detected.
