Madhya Pradesh: Bhopal’s Government Railway Police (GRP) on Sunday arrested a notorious criminal and recovered stolen goods worth approximately Rs 1.5 lakh in a theft case registered at Bhopal Railway Station.
The accused was caught while trying to sell the stolen goods. Police said he is a drug addict and has several cases of theft registered against him. The crime involved stealing a bag from a passenger sleeping at the railway station.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Shrikant Kumar, a resident of Siwan, Bihar, had lodged a complaint that his bag, containing gold and silver jewellery, a wristwatch, a mobile phone, and documents, was stolen while he was sleeping with his family after arriving in Bhopal by the Gondwana Express on December 13, 2025.
Superintendent of Police (Railways) Rahul Kumar Lodha said a special team was formed and using CCTV footage, the accused Aman Khan and Sameer were identified and arrested near the Western Railway Colony bridge.
