Bengaluru (IANS) | The Karnataka unit of the Congress on Saturday criticized the state’s ruling BJP government over the gang-rape of a minor girl in a moving car in Bengaluru, claiming that the incident was a result of Home Minister Araga Gyanendra’s incompetence. Leader of the Opposition Siddaramaiah on Saturday said the state’s police department has been derailed due to the incompetence of the Home Minister. The gang-rape was carried out by four people on March 25. The victim was a resident of Koramangala area of the city. Siddaramaiah said, people have lost faith in the existence of law and order in the state.
He further said that the government should have eliminated anti-social elements and criminals. Siddaramaiah alleged that when asked about the breakdown of law and order in the state, Gyanendra reacted strongly in the assembly session. His incompetence is the reason for all these atrocities.

They interrogated her when she was sitting with a male friend in a park late at night. One of the accused initially interrogated her and later returned with his friends and kidnapped the girl.
The age of the accused is between 23 to 24 years. There are two office boys, one is an electrician and the other works in a BPO. The victim is in shock after the incident and is undergoing treatment. She is cooperating with the investigating officers.
The victim had told the police that she was gang-raped in a moving car throughout the night. He lodged the complaint on 26 March.
