Karnataka: The DJ Halli police station has arrested an accused who allegedly cheated a woman out of Rs 5 lakh by promising her a house. The arrested accused, Abdul Hasan (30), is a resident of Shampura. Officials said that a case was registered and the accused was arrested based on a complaint filed by Noori, a resident of Balaji Layout near Hegde Nagar.
Abdul Hasan had deceived the complainant woman by telling her that his house on Shampura Main Road, opposite the Indian Oil petrol bunk, would soon be vacant and that he would give it to her. When the woman demanded her money back, he verbally abused her. The victim then went to the police station. Later, she filed a complaint at the Police Commissioner’s office, alleging that the DJ Halli police were not registering an FIR. Following this, the police registered a case and arrested the accused.
