Cuttack: The Bar Council of India (BCI) on Friday revoked the suspension order imposed on the Bar Council of the State of Odisha (OSBC) elections on November 4.
Also, election of member representative of OSBC will be held before BCI from Sunday. After this, the President and Vice President of OSBC will be elected.
The 25 members elected to the State Advocates Council will have to elect the President and Vice President before the BCI on November 5 after electing the representative members. But the OSBC could not go ahead with it as the BCI had imposed its suspension on November 4, ordering a detailed inquiry into allegations of use of unethical and unfair practices to influence the election of a member representative before the BCI.
BCI Secretary Srimant Sen, in an order issued to OSBC on Friday, said the inquiry committee formed to probe the allegations had submitted its report on December 14. The BCI President had canceled the suspension order after considering the information of the investigation. Asking OSBC said. The Secretary did videography of the entire process of Sunday’s social representative election.
An OSBC release said the three final candidates who will compete for the post include defender Bhakta Bhushan Barik, defender Vibhu Prasad Tripathi and defender Dinesh Chandra Ray. While the Secretary of the BCI will act as the Scrutinor, the Secretary of the OSBC will act as the Assistant Scrutinor.
