Raipur. The code of conduct has come into force as soon as the Lok Sabha elections were announced on Saturday. After this, the work of removing political banners and posters has started. Raipur district administration along with the corporation staff came out to remove flags and boards related to political parties. Also, photographs of leaders have been covered with stickers on the sign boards installed on the roads. At the same time, a flag march was also taken out by the police administration. The work of removing banners and posters was done in the entire state including Raipur. During this period all arms licenses have been cancelled. The license holders will deposit the weapons in the concerned police station within a week. This will also be applicable on licensed weapons residing in the district and those coming from outside the district. After the code of conduct is over, weapons will be returned to everyone.
Arms licenses of security guards of persons holding constitutional posts, bank security, security guards deployed at ATMs, security guards deployed in the security of Rashtriya Rifle Association and industrial institutions, educational institutions and important government institutions of the district will not be cancelled. Guards deployed for the security of banks, ATMs and institutions will be exempted from depositing weapons. During the election code of conduct, it will be mandatory to take permission from the district administration for loudspeakers and processions. Punitive action will be taken against playing loudspeakers or sound systems without permission and holding any kind of rally meeting. After the implementation of the Code of Conduct, inauguration of development works and Bhoomi Pujan will no longer take place in the state. However, the works for which tender or bhoomi pujan has already been done will continue. Elections are to be held in Chhattisgarh in 3 phases, in which elections will be held on Raipur Lok Sabha seat on 7th May. Notification for the elections will be issued on April 12. The last date for nomination will be April 19. The results of the election will come on June 4.
