Ahmedabad (Karnavati), 10 April (Hindustan Times). After having a serious impact on the country’s economic system during the Corona epidemic, now with its recovery, good news has started coming for the economic world. Especially in the state of Gujarat, there is news of the strength of the economy and leaving the old situation behind. According to the data received from all the banks of Gujarat, in the last one year, where the credit ratio of the state has increased, there has also been a jump in bank deposits.
Economic strength due to less expenditure, more inward
In December 2021, a total of Rs 9,30423 crore was deposited in the banks of Gujarat. Whereas last year in December-2022, this amount increased to Rs 10 lakh, 24 thousand, 264 crore. That is, in one year, the people of Gujarat deposited Rs 93841 crore more in various banks of the state. This additional amount is about 10 per cent.
This figure shows that the income of the people of Gujarat was more than the expenditure during this period, due to which the people deposited their savings. It is also believed to be a sign of strengthening the economic condition of the state. In December 2021, Gujarat’s banks gave loans (advances) worth Rs 722922 crore to the people of the state for various reasons including business-employment, schemes. Whereas in December 2022, these banks gave loans worth Rs 814532 crore to the people of Gujarat. This means that during one year the people of Gujarat got an additional loan of Rs 91590 crore. Which is about 13 percent.
More loans taken for business-employment
Similarly, during one year from December 2021 to December 2022, on one hand, the people of Gujarat deposited Rs 1024264 crore in banks, while on the other hand, they also took a loan of Rs 814532 crore for business-employment and other reasons. That is, in front of an increase of about 10 percent in deposits, an increase of 12.67 percent in credit (loan advances) was recorded. It is clear from this that in December 2021, the credit deposit ratio of the banks of Gujarat was 77.70 percent. At the same time, in December 2022, this bank credit ratio became 79.52 percent. This means that during this period, 79.52 per cent credit (loan advance) was also taken against the bank deposits made by the people of Gujarat for various reasons.
This ratio is not the same in all the 33 districts of Gujarat. The credit deposit ratio is below 40 per cent in districts like Dang, Navsari, Anand and Porbandar in the state and this is also a matter of concern for the government. In these four districts, where bank savings are less, people have also taken less loans for business and employment.
