Tamil Nadu: The State Transport Corporation has warned drivers and conductors not to use tape recorders, radios, or other devices to play music while driving government buses, and that strict action will be taken against them if they violate this rule.
In a circular sent to all branch managers, the Managing Director of the State Transport Corporation stated:
Bus drivers use tape recorders and radios to play music while driving. Passengers have received numerous complaints that this creates excessive noise. Therefore, government bus drivers should strictly prohibit the use of radios and tape recorders while driving.
Despite repeated warnings, some drivers and conductors are not strictly following these guidelines. If they are found using these devices in violation of this warning, strict action will be taken against them. It has been stated that all branch managers, bus station supervisors, and route inspectors should constantly monitor the activities of drivers and conductors.
