Baiju Mangeshkar brings a set of 10 amazing songs that will make people feel a musical rendition of the priceless interpretations of Saint Kabir. Baiju Mangeshkar’s ‘Man Mast Kabira’ as singer-composer of poet-saint Kabir’s songs is perhaps the biggest offering of this year, one of the soul-stirring musical offerings. Baiju Mangeshkar says, ‘Man Mast Kabira’ is the order of the universe and the almighty and the way for Kabir to make this musical song. “It may sound a bit strange but the great ‘Kabir Das’ has chosen me in another way for this great performance!” For some time, the idea of making a Hindi album was floating in Baiju’s mind. He says that “Lata ji wanted me to do an album in the national language, Hindi, on the compositions of our revered poets or poet-saints. When I started composing and recording this album, I kept it as a secret because I wanted to surprise them after it was all ready. If only! It wouldn’t have been a sad thing.” The project had to be shelved for 2 months after Lataji fell ill and passed away. Baiju goes on to say, “Throughout this performance I felt a deep sense of loss and emptiness. The feeling was their validation, approval, suggestion and praise meant the world to me. Baiju says that Lata ji’s demise has left a deep void, although her father Pt. Hridaynath Mangeshkar expressed happiness listening to the song. He says, “My father was surprised that there are 10 songs in the album. He expressed happiness and indicated approval on some of the productions and compositions! His consent is a pleasant experience for me because when you are a revered poet-saint like Sant Kabir, It’s a big responsibility when you compose songs for P.S. Saregama, the presenter of this 10-song album and before him ‘Ya Rabba’, worked with Mangeshkar for over 80 years and three generations of these great composers. and they have a common historical connection. Kabir’s timeless unity with mystic devotion is the core of this album which reveals a contemporary spectrum of musical styles ranging from up-tempo songs to leisurely ballads revealing different moods – at times blissful and joyful; Contemplative or thoughtful at other times. The tunes are rooted in various Hindustani ragas, and some are influenced by a distinctive folk flavour. While the musical arrangements of all three of Baiju’s albums have distinctive displays of musical influence – a gospel music influence in the first and a mix of jazz in the second – his ‘Man Mast Kabira’ mixes classical and folk to create something stylistically contemporary. As with all his albums amplified by musical inputs from some exceptional locally and internationally renowned composers, ‘Man Mast Kabira’ features elegant musical arrangements by Jatin Sharma and Ritam Changkakoti. All told, Man Mast Kabira, the velvety blend of Baiju’s voice, soulful singing and his signature style – evolved from his illustrious roots and his bountiful creativity, has resulted in a resonating flow of Kabir’s songs, which are bound to the realm of universal love. . hugs.
