Mumbai: While hearing the Badlapur encounter of Maharashtra, Bombay High Court has asked sharp questions to the police. During the hearing, the High Court has asked how the bullet hit the accused’s head, while the police is trained on where to fire the bullet. The court further said that they (police) should have fired the bullet in the hand or leg.
During the hearing, the High Court bench said, ‘There were four policemen at the back, then how is it possible that they could not control a weak man, that too in the rear of the car. There were two policemen in front of the accused and two policemen beside him.’
Justice Chavan said during the hearing, ‘There should be finger prints and hand wash on the pistol. Has this been done? Present everything on the next date. According to you, he fired 3 shots but only 1 hit. Where are the other 2? Was it a direct fire on the policeman or ricochet firing?’
