Hyderabad: An unidentified man died on the spot after being hit by a speeding vehicle in Balaji Nagar, Jawaharnagar in the wee hours of Wednesday. The victim is said to be in his 40s and was a construction worker. He was sleeping on the ground in Shiva Nagar Colony when the vehicle ran over him. According to police, the victim suffered serious injuries on his head and other parts of the body and died on the spot. Local residents found his body in the morning and informed the police.
“He was sleeping on the ground in the colony when a vehicle ran over him. He died on the spot,” police said, adding that the driver fled from the spot soon after the accident. The Jawaharnagar police have registered a case of causing death due to negligence and are checking footage from surveillance cameras in nearby areas to trace the vehicle and the absconding driver. The body has been sent to the Gandhi Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.
