AUDI E5 electric car with 100kWh battery debuts in China, range goes up to 770km

AUDI E5 electric car has made its debut in China and the Sportback will be available in China only. The AUDI E5 Sportback is the first model based on the Advanced Digitized Platform. For those who are unknown, AUDI is the sub-brand of Audi and is electric in nature. “The E5 Sportback offers the very best qualities of Audi, reimagined for and tailored to customers in China,” mentioned the press release of the company.

The AUDI E5 electric car is offered in four electric powertrains and that includes 300hp, 408hp, 578hp and 787hp. It is purchased in either rear-wheel or quattro all-wheel drive. In terms of acceleration, the car can go from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.4 seconds. The company has claimed that maximum range of 770km can be achieved on a 100kWh battery pack, the Chinese test cycle. Through the 800 volt charging the car gets range of 370kms in just 10 minutes.

There is a LiDAR-based AUDI 360 Assisted Driving system that is offered for safe and relaxing driving experience. AUDI E5 offers 29 perception hardware units and that includes a 100-line LiDAR with long-range detection capability, three long-range millimeter-wave radars, twelve ultrasonic sensors, eleven cameras, and several multi-modal sensing units. Adaptive Cruise Assist offers assistance on highway and urban areas. Parking Assistance supports multiple parking spaces and that include vertical, diagonal, parallel parking. On the other hand, the Active Safety Assist enables users to prevent accidents while driving.

The AUDI E5 does not get any physical buttons in the cabin. It gets 24-inch 4K resolution that is stretched over the dashboard. The screen layouts are customisable.
