Assistant Loco Pilot of Visakhapatnam-Guntur Simhadri Express praised for bravery

Visakhapatnam: Assistant Loco Pilot of Rajahmundry, G. Rajat Kumar is being hailed a hero for his quick thinking and bravery in ensuring the safety of passengers on the Visakhapatnam-Guntur Simhadri Express on Saturday.

The incident came to light when the alarm chain was pulled unauthorized between Gollaprolu and Pithapuram stations. With the train stopped on the bridge, it became impossible to access the device from the side.
Unafraid of the risk, Kumar crawled under the car in the scorching heat to reset the alarm, sustaining minor scratches in the process. Due to his commendable action the train journey resumed within 30 minutes.

N.K. The prompt response and dedication to duty of loco pilots Mohan and Kumar was appreciated by Narendra A Patil, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Vijayawada Division of South Central Railway (SCR).
DRM described the incident as a shining example of professionalism and commitment displayed by Railway staff during challenging circumstances. He urged passengers to refrain from pulling the alarm chain unless absolutely necessary, stressing that it is a punishable offense under the Indian Railways Act.
