Kohima (IANS) | In a daring operation, Assam Rifles personnel on Friday rescued six civilians allegedly held hostage for ransom by NSCN-IM militants and detained five militants in Nagaland’s Dimapur. The defense spokesperson said the six people were abducted between April 13 and 27 and their family members were contacted by the kidnappers to pay the ransom.
The rescued people are residents of Nagaland, Assam and Bihar. Defense PRO said that five people of NSCN-IM have been apprehended.
