Assam: Orientation program organized for newly appointed AEAs in Biswanath.

BISWANATH CHARIALI: The Biswanath District Agriculture Office organized a one-day orientation program for newly recruited Agriculture Extension Assistants (AEAs) at the State Institute of Panchayati Raj and Development, Biswanath, on Thursday. ​​Fifty-one AEAs participated in the program.

The program aimed to familiarize the new AEAs with their roles, responsibilities, and various agricultural schemes and initiatives. Inaugurating the program, the District Agriculture Officer of Biswanath, Baneswar Be, said that their involvement in agricultural schemes would empower farmers, increase productivity, and improve rural economies. He urged them to understand the information provided during the orientation program and to apply these learnings in the field to bring about tangible changes in the lives of the farming community.

The program included detailed sessions on key schemes such as PM-KISAN, paddy procurement scheme, digital crop survey, formation and functioning of FPOs/FPCs, NESNM, and disaster management.
