Kamrup: A baby elephant was found dead in a paddy field in Assam’s Boko area on Friday. After seeing the dead body of the baby elephant, some residents near Nuapara area in Boko informed the forest officials.
Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Kamrup West Division, Dimpy Bora told ANI, “Our forest staff reached the spot and recovered the remains of the baby elephant. The cause of death is not yet known. The investigation is ongoing.”
A team of doctors from the Assam State Zoo is ready to conduct the post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death of the elephant calf.
