AIMIM chief and MP Asaduddin Owaisi has demanded strict action against the YouTubers who targeted and harassed Kurnool-based small trader Vali at the Medaram fair. He strongly reacted to the incident and appealed to the Telangana Police and the state government.
Owaisi said that publicly insulting a poor trader for views and harassing him with religious slurs is the most despicable act. He demanded that criminal cases be immediately registered against YouTubers who terrorized a man who makes a living by selling Koa bun for just Rs 10 in the name of “food jihad”. He made it clear that such a trend of inciting hatred in the society should be nipped in the bud.
What really happened?
Sheikh Shawali, a man from Velugugod village in Kurnool district, was selling Koa buns for just Rs 10 at the Medaram fair along with his brother. However, some YouTubers (Tejaswi News Channel) surrounded him for views and likes. They made serious allegations that something was mixed in the food, calling it ‘food jihad’. Moreover, Wali was forced to eat it in front of everyone to prove that the food was safe. As this video went viral on social media, everyone from common people to politicians criticized the behavior of the YouTubers. Recently, Asaduddin Owaisi took to social media to respond to the same incident and stood by Wali.
