New Delhi: As soon as the BJP government came to power in Delhi, it ended the free fitness check system of vehicles that was being run since 2019 to keep the air of Delhi clean. This means that now vehicle owners/drivers will have to loosen their pockets for this work.
Remember that the previous government had ended the fitness check system of black-yellow taxis including autos in the year 2019. The reason behind this may have been its political intention. In this system, almost all people used to get the fitness of their vehicles checked. At the same time, this decision taken by the Kejriwal government a few months before the Delhi Assembly elections in 2020 benefited them a lot and they once again returned to the governance of Delhi.
The new BJP government of Delhi made all the taxi owners of Delhi unhappy with this decision. The taxi owners who were getting facilities under the system of the previous government till yesterday, the new government has paved the way to empty their pockets by ending this facility being given to them.
The result was that the vehicle owners who were standing in long queues on Saturday morning for pollution check of their vehicles were angry. While taxi drivers will have to spend Rs. 300 for fitness check of their vehicles, 50 thousand taxi owners will be affected by this decision of the new government of Delhi, while more than one lakh auto owners will be affected by this decision.
