Arunachal: TCL felicitated academic toppers from the TCL region.

CHANGLANG: The Department of Tirap, Changlang and Longding (DoTCL) honoured the toppers of Classes 10 and 12 from government secondary and higher secondary schools of Tirap, Changlang and Longding districts in recognition of their exceptional academic achievements during the 2025-26 academic session.

During the programme, cash award of Rs 1 lakh each were presented to the Class 12 toppers, while Rs 50,000 each was awarded to the Class 10 toppers, along with certificates and mementoes.

Addressing the gathering at the TCL Academic Achievers’ Award giving programme held at the circuit house community hall here, Legislative Assembly Speaker Tesam Pongtey encouraged the achievers to continue striving for excellence while bringing greater pride and recognition to the TCL region.

Pongtey urged parents and guardians to place their trust in government schools, and appealed to the DDSEs of Tirap and Changlang to regularly monitor the performance of teachers to ensure improvement in academic outcomes.

He encouraged students to dream big, study hard and compete with the best at the state and national levels.

He also emphasised that DoTCL funds should be effectively utilised for strengthening human resources among the TCL youths and for supporting sectors such as agriculture and horticulture for the benefit of rural communities.

Expressing pride in the achievements of the students, the Speaker highlighted the crucial role of parents and guardians in nurturing young minds,and stressed the need to channel the immense potential of the youths towards constructive and nation-building activities.

DoTCL Director Wayong Khimhun highlighted various initiatives undertaken by the department,and underscored the importance of recognising achievers from different fields to inspire the younger generation.

Speaking on the occasion, DoTCL Chairman Tanpho Wangnaw emphasised the importance of education, and highlighted the department’s initiatives, including free coaching programmes for APPSC, UPSC and APSSB aspirants.

He informed that the programme marked the fourth edition of the TCL academic achievers’ felicitation,and announced that the next edition would be hosted in Longding district. He also stressed the importance of unity, cooperation and collective progress for the development of the TCL region.

Deputy Commissioner Vishal Sah told the students that success is not achieved overnight but through consistent hard work, discipline, perseverance and dedication. He encouraged the students to remain focused on their goals, make the best use of available opportunities, and never allow temporary setbacks to discourage them.

MLA Humjong Tangha encouraged the achievers to remain committed to their studies and strive for greater accomplishments in the future. He urged the students to dream big, and reiterated that hard work remains the key to success.

DoTCL Deputy Director Wangton Lowang highlighted the department’s key initiatives, including the felicitation of meritorious students since the 2023-24 academic session, institution of the TCL Achievers’ Awards in sports and social service, and free coaching programmes for educated unemployed youths preparing for APSSB, UPSC and APPSC examinations.
