Arunachal: Lok Bhavan celebrates Telangana, Sikkim and Goa day

ITANAGAR,: The state foundation days of Telangana, Sikkim, and Goa were celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at the Lok Bhavan here on Tuesday.
Addressing the occasion, Governor KT Parnaik, who joined the celebration with his wife Anagha Parnaik, extended his greetings and best wishes to the people of Telangana, Sikkim, and Goa, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to the nation’s progress, cultural richness, and democratic ethos.
Reflecting on the unique historical journeys of the three states, he highlighted Telangana’s remarkable achievements in innovation and economic growth, Sikkim’s inspiring commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable development, and Goa’s rich cultural legacy and historical significance as a vibrant gateway of Indian and global interactions.
Drawing parallels with Arunachal Pradesh, the governor noted that all four states share a deep respect for their indigenous traditions, vibrant tribal cultures, exquisite handloom and handicraft heritage, and immense tourism potential. He observed that despite geographical distances, these states are united by common values of community living, cultural pride, and harmonious coexistence with nature.
Emphasising the significance of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat, he said that the programme has played a pivotal role in encouraging people-to-people connections, fostering greater appreciation of different cultures, inspiring the youths to embrace the spirit of unity in diversity, and promoting India’s rich and varied cultural heritage.
“Such celebrations,” he added, “serve as meaningful platforms for building mutual respect, cultural understanding, and national integration.”
The governor commended all the participants for their performances and informative presentations.
A colourful cultural programme was presented on the occasion, showcasing the rich diversity and vibrant heritage of different states of India. Students of VKV Itanagar presented a traditional dance of Arunachal,highlighting the state’s indigenous traditions and cultural vibrancy. The audience was further enthralled by the traditional Sikkimese group song ‘Chitti Chitti’ and the lively traditional group dance ‘Gairi Khet Ko Sirai Hanyo’, which showcased the unique folk traditions of Sikkim.
Bhagyasree of VKV Itanagar presented Bharatnatyam, celebrating the timeless artistic heritage of India. Gichik Yachum of VKV Itanagar, Chukhu Nachum and Nabam Kampung of Boum Kakir Mission School, Doimukh, and Let’s Speak Arunachal gave informative prologues on the states of Sikkim, Goa, and Telangana.
The programme was further enriched by the presence of the children, staff, and parents of Sacred Heart Convent & Day Centre, Itanagar.
Interacting with the children and their families, the governor emphasised the importance of creating a caring and supportive society where every individual, regardless of ability, is empowered to realise their full potential. Their presence served as a reminder that the spirit of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat is rooted not only in celebrating cultural diversity but also in fostering an inclusive society that embraces and uplifts all its citizens.
Audiovisual messages of Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla and Sikkim Governor Om Prakash Mathur were screened on the occasion.
