Arunachal: Governor tells SS qualified students to remain focused and disciplined

ITANAGAR: Governor KT Parnaik advised students from Kurung Kumey district who have qualified for admission to Sainik Schools (SS) to remain disciplined, focused, and committed to excellence in both academics and character-building.

During a meeting with the students at the Lok Bhavan here on Saturday, the governor encouraged them to embrace the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.

The governor reminded them that Sainik Schools are premier institutions designed to prepare young minds for leadership roles, particularly for entry into the National Defence Academy and future service as officers in the Indian armed forces. He emphasised that life in a Sainik School demands adherence to strict discipline, physical fitness, mental resilience, and a strong sense of responsibility.

Commending the students on their achievement, the governor described their success as a matter of pride for Kurung Kumey and the state. He expressed confidence that they would make the most of the opportunity and emerge as responsible citizens and future leaders.

The governor also expressed appreciation for APCS officer Nangram Pingkap for spearheading a free coaching initiative for students from rural and remote areas, enabling them to compete successfully in the entrance examinations. He lauded the dedication of Indian Army personnel, teachers, and mentors who guided and motivated the children, often overcoming geographical and logistical challenges in the interior areas of the district.

The governor further acknowledged the crucial role of parents in shaping the future of their children. He said that the combined efforts of parents, teachers, mentors, and community leaders are instrumental in nurturing the next generation of leaders for the nation.

Pingkap, who is the Koloriang assistant commissioner, briefed the governor on the concerted efforts undertaken by the district administration in collaboration with the Indian Army to identify, mentor, and prepare students from remote areas of Kurung Kumey district for the Sainik School entrance examination. He highlighted how sustained guidance, dedicated coaching, and community support contributed significantly to the students’ success.

Koloriang MLA Pani Taram, 19th Battalion Jat Regiment Commanding Officer Col Rohit Gularia,and Company Commander of Sarli Company, Major Sarvodaya Tak, along with parents and teachers were present on the occasion.
