Tamil Nadu : Training for teachers under the Numeracy and Literacy Programme will begin from the 9th.
In this regard, the State Institute of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has sent a circular to all the District Principal Education Officers:
The Numeracy and Literacy Programme has been implemented in government and government-aided schools in Tamil Nadu from the academic year 2022-23.
The project will continue till the academic year 2025-27. Therefore, the work of developing the first semester curriculum for 5 subjects – Tamil, English, Mathematics, Science and Social Science – based on Numeracy and Literacy is now completed for the current year.
In this situation, the Union level training for the first semester on the subject of Numeracy and Literacy for all teachers teaching from class 1 to 5 is to be conducted from 9th to 13th June. After this, the teachers should be divided into groups at the central level and provided training.
It should also be ensured that the classes are continued by substitute teachers in the respective schools on the training day.
It said the cost should be utilised from the annual maintenance fund.
