APSRTC has sought approval to fill 7,673 vacant positions for drivers and conductors.

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has sought permission from the state government to fill 7,673 vacant regular posts for drivers and conductors to improve services and effectively implement the Stree Shakti scheme.

In a statement, APSRTC said its governing board has passed a resolution seeking approval to recruit employees for the long-vacant positions. This proposal has been sent to the state government.

According to the proposal, APSRTC has sought permission to fill 3,673 driver positions, 1,813 conductor positions, and other vacant posts. Officials said this recruitment will help improve operational efficiency and service delivery, especially in view of the increasing demand from passengers under various welfare schemes.
