AP Budget Copies Placed at Kanaka Durgamma; Officials Perform Pujas

Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly budget session is underway. On this occasion, copies of the budget presented for the year 2026-27 were first placed at the feet of Kanaka Durgamma in Vijayawada. Principal Finance Secretary Piyush Kumar, Finance Secretary Ronald Ross and others performed special pujas. Later, Vedic scholars performed the pujas according to the scriptures.

Later, Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav presented the budget in the Assembly. The budget was introduced with Rs. 3,32,205 crore. The revenue expenditure is Rs. 2,56,143 crore, capital expenditure is Rs. 53,915 crore, revenue deficit is Rs. 22,002 crore, and fiscal deficit is Rs. 75,868 crore, the minister revealed.

He said that Rs. 6 thousand crores will be spent on the construction of the capital Amaravati, Rs. 13,546 crores on roads, ports and airports, Rs. 13,934 crores on the power sector, Rs. 5,451 crores on the housing sector, and Rs. 4 thousand crores on NTR Medical Service. He explained that Rs. 30 thousand crores will be allocated for Rayalaseema Global Horticulture Hut, Rs. 13,598 crores for agriculture and allied sectors, and Rs. 6,105 crores for the Polavaram project.
