Raipur. The Kharora police have arrested the accused along with a large quantity of illegal liquor. On January 26, 2026, reliable information was received from an informant that Haleshwar Sahu and Chandrashekhar Sahu, residents of Saragaon village, were storing a large quantity of liquor in their uncle Mohan Sahu’s cattle shed and were selling it to customers. Based on this information, a joint raid was conducted by the Kharora police party and the Cyber ​​Crime Unit at the location specified by the informant. Accused Haleshwar Kumar Sahu and Chandrashekhar Sahu were apprehended while illegally possessing and selling liquor.

They were served a notice regarding the possession of liquor, but they failed to produce any documents. Consequently, the following items were seized from their joint possession: one white plastic sack containing 120 pouches of country liquor (Masala Shole), each pouch containing 180 ml of liquor, totaling 21 liters and 600 ml, valued at ₹12,000; one white plastic sack containing 120 pouches of country liquor (Masala Shole), each pouch containing 180 ml of liquor, totaling 21 liters and 600 ml, valued at ₹12,000; one white plastic sack containing 120 pouches of country liquor (Masala Shole), each pouch containing 180 ml of liquor, totaling 21 liters and 600 ml, valued at ₹12,000; and one white plastic sack containing 120 pouches of country liquor (Masala Shole), each pouch containing 180 ml of liquor, totaling 21 liters and 600 ml. Items worth ₹12,000: 125 pouches of Masala Shera country liquor in a white plastic sack, each pouch containing 180 ml of liquor, total quantity 22 liters 500 ml, worth ₹15,000; 125 pouches of Masala Shera country liquor in a white plastic sack, each pouch containing 180 ml of liquor, total quantity 22 liters 500 ml, worth ₹15,000; 120 pouches of Goa Special English Whiskey in a yellow plastic sack, each pouch containing 180 ml of liquor, total quantity 21 liters 600 ml, worth ₹14,400; 120 pouches of Goa Special English Whiskey in a yellow plastic sack, each pouch containing 180 ml of liquor, total quantity 21 liters 600 ml, worth ₹14,400; 38 pouches of Golden Goa Special English Whiskey in a Vimal paan masala cloth bag, each pouch containing 180 ml of liquor, total quantity 6 liters 840 ml, worth ₹4,560. Total quantity: 181 liters 440 ml. Liquor worth a total of ₹1,11,360 and liquor sales proceeds of ₹19,100, totaling ₹1,30,460, were seized in the presence of witnesses. The two accused were questioned, and they stated that Ajay Dhiwar, a resident of village Kharora, had brought the liquor illegally for sale on a scooter bearing registration number CG 04 HQ 2794. Upon locating and apprehending Ajay Dhiwar, he confessed to the crime. The said scooter was then formally seized in the presence of witnesses. The accused’s actions constitute an offense under Section 34(2) of the Excise Act. They were arrested, their families were informed in writing of their arrest, and they are being produced before the Honorable Court for judicial remand.
