Tamil Nadu: Strict guidelines have been issued for applications seeking recognition as an engineering college affiliated to Anna University for the upcoming academic year.
Anna University’s circular reads: After teacher details are registered, a unique 10-digit Teacher Identification Number will be generated and used for further communication.
The submitted teacher details must be carefully verified by the principal of the respective institution. It is mandatory to verify and confirm each teacher’s details using a biometric (fingerprint) method duly validated by the UIDAI.
The ‘Recognition Extension’ order issued by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), student enrollment details, undergraduate and postgraduate courses, laboratory facilities, classroom availability, library facilities, building plans, land details, etc., should be submitted along with the relevant documents in the application only to the principal of the concerned institution. Details of educational programs that have already received permanent affiliation approval should also be submitted in the application. After submitting the application, the institution’s principal should take a printout of the application and sign it in the appropriate places. This copy should be presented to the inspection team when they visit for inspection. Nine new regulations have been issued along with these regulations.
In the 2023-2024 academic year, professors were involved in fraud. It was discovered that a professor was working in multiple colleges simultaneously. Anna University has issued strict regulations to prevent such irregularities.
