Anekal: School building under construction collapsed

Bengaluru: In a devastating incident, an under-construction school building collapsed in Badarahalli in Anekal taluk, killing two and injuring 13 more following the fighting. The incident occurred during the construction work of the second floor of the building, the property of St. Institution Educational Agnes. The victims identified as Minal (43) and Adil (31), natives of Bengal Occidental, lost their lives in the tragic incident. Six victims were immediately shifted to hospitals in Bengaluru, while the remaining victims are currently undergoing treatment at Anekal Taluk Hospital. The incident occurred when around 25 workers were engaged in the construction of the second floor of the building. A worker at the site held Deram responsible for inadequacies in the climbing work. Police are actively investigating the incident to determine the exact cause of the tragedy. Bengaluru SP Mallikarjun Baladandi, who visited the spot, announced that a detailed investigation has been initiated. Preliminary findings suggest negligence or possibly a lack of safety measures on the part of the manufacturing unit. Emergency services were immediately dispatched and the debris was cleared to ensure that no workers were trapped beneath. As research develops, it is likely that questions related to compliance with safety measures and protocols in construction will be at the forefront.
