Arunachal: The top three district achievers in the Arunachal Pradesh State Board (APSB), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and home examinations for the 2023-24 academic session were felicitated by Tawang MLA Namgay Tsering at Manjushree Vidyapeeth on Thursday.
The felicitation ceremony is a part of the Golden Jubilee Meritorious Student Award (GJMSA) initiative, which was organised by the district education department.
In his address, the MLA encouraged the students to remain honest and disciplined in their endeavours. He urged the students to become responsible citizens contributing to nation-building and called upon both parents and students to tackle social issues, especially drug abuse.
Emphasising on community support, he encouraged the students to “help their peers who are struggling, and stay on the positive path.”
Tawang DDSE Hridhar Phuntsok encouraged the toppers to “set their academic and personal goals even higher”, while DSP Taso Kato inspired the students with stories of perseverance and resilience from his own experiences of competitive exams. BEO Thutton Wangchu highlighted that the GJMSA initiative has been launched by the state government to motivate students to excel academically and to enhance the quality of education in government schools. Students of Manjushree Vidyapeeth presented a vibrant cultural programme, which added colour and festivity to the occasion. Among others, MMT Tawang unit president Pema Chawang, Manjushree Vidyapeeth principal Amar Gurung, parents of the toppers and students from the community were present at the function.
