Andhra: Modi to attend 10th International Yoga Day in Visakhapatnam

Vijayawada: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday announced that he will personally attend the 10th International Yoga Day to be celebrated in Visakhapatnam on June 21.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of projects worth Rs 58,000 crore in the capital Amaravati. Governor S Abdul Nazir, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Union ministers, state ministers and others attended the mega event. Addressing the huge gathering, Modi said that Andhra Pradesh can create new world records in yoga under the leadership of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu.

Modi thanked Naidu and the people of Andhra Pradesh for inviting him to participate in the International Yoga Day. He said the whole world will look towards Vizag as the city will celebrate International Yoga Day. Modi said the next 50 days will be very important for Andhra Pradesh and elaborate arrangements can be made to host the Yoga Day. He said that in the next 50 days, yoga should be popularised in every village and town of the state and we can attract the attention of the world. Referring to the Nav Durga missile test centre to be built at Nagaya Lanka in Krishna district, Modi said that this will strengthen India’s defence sector. He laid the foundation stone of the DRDO missile test centre in Krishna district and greeted the people of Andhra Pradesh on the occasion.
