Vijayawada: Maxivision Super Specialty Eye Hospitals, one of India’s leading eye care networks with more than 90 facilities across the country, inaugurated its second hospital in Vijayawada at Poranki on Saturday. Minister for Mines and Excise Kollu Ravindra was the chief guest and inaugurated the facility by lighting the traditional lamp.
MP Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni), Penamaluru MLA Bode Prasad, Vijayawada East MLA Gadde Ram Mohan Rao, Vijayawada Central MLA Bonda Umamaheswar Rao and Tadigadapa TDP president Anumolu Prabhakar Rao attended the event.
The Poranki facility has been established to provide specialised eye care to patients from Vijayawada and surrounding areas. It offers services covering cataract, glaucoma, retina disorders, refractive surgery, paediatric eye care and other vision-related conditions, along with consultations, diagnostic investigations and surgical procedures.
Maxivision chairman Dr GSK Velu said Vijayawada remained an important region for the hospital network and that the second facility would help serve more patients closer to their homes.
Chief Mentor Dr KP Reddy said Maxivision had opened its Vijayawada facility in 2003 and was the first brand to introduce LASIK in Andhra Pradesh.Medical Officer Dr A Ramakrishna said timely detection could help in effectively managing many eye conditions.
