Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government has appointed retired IAS officer Binoy Kumar as chairperson of the Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC).
The appointment has been made under the Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Reforms Act, 1998.
He will serve for five years from the date of assuming office or until he turns 70, whichever is earlier.
Binoy Kumar held several key positions at the state and Central levels, including that of Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh in 2012-13.
