Raipur. Kumar Pandit, the accused who carried out 3 incidents of chain snatching, has been caught. In fact, the incidents of chain snatching were taken seriously by Senior Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police West Daulat Ram Porte, Additional Superintendent of Police Crime Sandeep Mittal, City Superintendent of Police Old Basti Rajesh Dewangan and Deputy Superintendent of Police Crime Sanjay Singh, in-charge Anti Crime. End Cyber Unit and police station in-charge New Rajendra Nagar have been instructed to trace and arrest the unknown accused as soon as possible.
Under the direction of senior officers, a joint team of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit and New Rajendra Nagar police station started detailed interrogation of the applicants regarding the incidents of chain snatching and started locating the unknown accused. Along with inspecting the incident site, CCTV cameras installed in and around the incident site were also inspected by the team members. While scanning the camera footage, hundreds of CCTV cameras were installed on the routes which were used by the accused to escape. The camera footage was scrutinized. Efforts were also being made by the team members to ascertain the identity of the unknown accused by collecting information regarding the vehicles used by the unknown accused during the incident. Along with conducting technical analysis regarding the unknown accused, an informer was also appointed. The team members were making every possible effort to trace the unknown accused by verifying the old and recently released from jail robbery accused of chain snatching on the basis of incident and keeping a constant watch on their activities. .
Meanwhile, the members of the team engaged in the arrest of the unknown accused received important information regarding the involvement of Kumar Pandit, resident of Civil Line, Baron Bazar, in the incident. On which the team members were successful in locating Kumar Pandit and arresting him. Based on the evidence received by the team members, when inquired about the incidents of chain snatching, it was revealed that 03 incidents of chain snatching were carried out by different women from different places in the police station New Rajendra Nagar area. . On which the accused Kumar Pandit was arrested and action was taken by seizing 03 pieces of gold chain weighing approximately 40 grams and 01 piece of two-wheeler Jumla used in the incident, worth approximately Rs 3,10,000/-, from his possession. Crime number 219/24 section 356, 379 IPC, crime number 221/24 section 356, 379 IPC against the accused in New Rajendra Nagar police station. And crime number 237/24, section 356, 379 of IPC has been registered.
