An 18-month-old child was killed by a pack of stray dogs in Jawahar Nagar

Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, an 18-month-old child was attacked and killed by a pack of stray dogs in the city’s suburb Jawahar Nagar on Tuesday evening. Vihas was playing outside his house in Adarshnagar in Jawahar Nagar when a pack of stray dogs attacked him. The dogs attacked the child and dragged him for some distance, leaving him severely injured.
When a local resident saw that the child was attacked by the dogs, he rushed to the spot and chased the dogs away. The child’s parents Bharat and Lakshmi were informed. The parents rushed the child to Gandhi Hospital where he died during treatment late at night. Vihas’ family, who hails from Siddipet, had come to the city to earn a livelihood and was staying at a relative’s house in Adarshnagar. Locals complained that the menace of stray dogs has reached its peak in the Jawahar Nagar area and many children have been attacked by the dogs. Local people said that complaints were made to municipal officials several times, but no action was taken.
