Amarnath Dham (Amarnath Yatra 2024) is a holy pilgrimage place for Hindus. There is a religious belief that by visiting Baba Barfani, a person attains salvation and Bholenath removes all the troubles of his devotees. Do you know how Baba Barfani’s cave got the name Amarnath? Every year the Amarnath Yatra starts to visit Baba Barfani. A large number of Shiva devotees participate in this journey. Even after the very difficult paths, a very special enthusiasm is seen among the devotees. After completing the journey by chanting the name of Lord Shiva, they visit Baba Barfani. According to mythology, once Lord Shiva showed Mother Parvati the path to salvation. Mother Parvati expressed her desire to know the way from Mahadev. After this, Shiva Ji narrated the story of immortality to Mother Parvati. During this time two pigeons were also present there. The pair of pigeons heard the story of Amritgyan, after which the pair of pigeons became immortal. Devotees have also claimed to see them in the cave. This cave is called Amarnath cave because it is witness to the Amar Katha. Mahadev had seated his son Ganapati Bappa on the Mahagun mountain before going to the Amarnath cave. The Lord gave him the responsibility that no one should come inside the cave during the story. Before going to the cave, Shiv Ji had abandoned Nandi. That place was named Pahalgaon. After this, he abandoned the moon, which is known as Chandanwadi. After this, he abandoned the snake and the place was named Sheshnag. Finally, he abandoned Mother Ganga in his hair. That place was named Panchtarni. Every year the Amarnath Yatra starts from the month of Ashadh, which ends on Rakshabandhan. In the year 2024, it has started from 29 June. Whereas, it will end on 19 August.
