Alleged Babulal Marandi, who sent him to jail during emergency

On 26 June 1975, Emergency was imposed in the country by the then PM Indira Gandhi. Since then the opposition parties call this day as Black Day. Opposition parties keep attacking the Congress and even today the Congress has to face questions regarding the Emergency. In the latest case, former Jharkhand CM and BJP leader Babulal Marandi has made a scathing attack on RJD chief Lalu Yadav and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, recalling the days of Emergency. He has alleged that those who sent him to jail during the Emergency, today he is supporting the same Congress. Marandi also reminded Lalu Yadav of naming his daughter Misa and said that Lalu had named his daughter Misa in protest.
Babulal Marandi tweeted, ‘On this day democracy was shackled. Democratic institutions, fundamental rights and public protest were imprisoned. Opponents were given all kinds of torture, they were tortured in jails. During that time leaders like Nitish Kumar and Lalu Yadav were also among those who went to jail. The law “MISA” brought for political prisoners was heavily misused. As a protest against this, Lalu ji named his eldest daughter as “Misa”.
He further wrote that Nitish Kumar ji came out of emergency, walked in his stream with JP-Lohia (who kept opposing the autocracy of Indira Gandhi throughout his life). Today Lalu-Nitish ji are greedy for power and are surrendering to Congress to save their existence. At least on this day these people should issue a statement condemning the “dark days of Emergency”. Congress should also sign it and apologize to the great people of India.
Tense on opposition unity too
Sharing a picture during the meeting of the opposition leaders, Babulal Marandi has taunted the opposition leaders. In the picture, Mamta Banerjee is seen leaving the meeting along with Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren and Rahul Gandhi. Tweeting the same picture, Marandi wrote, ‘Self-made human being will not work at all in opposition unity…be it Kejriwal, Mamta Banerjee, KCR or Mayawati…only family leaders will work here… Opposition unity is actually a gathering of those families who have always been ruling India… In the picture below, Mamata Didi is probably saying ‘Ok toh hum chalte hain’.
