It features some of the most stellar singers, including Sonu Nigam, Arijit Singh, Vishal Mishra, and Diljit Dosanjh. On Monday, the makers shared the teaser of the song on Instagram, captioning it, “The biggest musical collaboration in the history of Indian cinema, bringing back iconic songs from multiple genres. #GharKabAaoge releases on January 2nd. #Border2 releases in cinemas on January 23, 2026. The full song will be launched at a grand launch event in Longewala-Tanot, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan on January 2nd, 2026. The team behind this timeless classic is back, with music by Anu Malik, re-composed by Mithoon, and new lyrics by Manoj Muntashir Shukla, carrying forward the enduring legacy of the original song written by Javed Akhtar.

The original song “Sandese Aate Hain” from the 1999 war drama “Border” was sung by Sonu Nigam and Roopkumar Rathod. The lyrics for this much-loved song were written by Javed Akhtar, and it featured Sunny Deol, Sunil Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, and Jackie Shroff.

Directed by Anurag Singh, “Border 2” stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Mona Singh, Medha Rana, Sonam Bajwa, and Anya Singh. The upcoming film is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series in association with J.P. Dutta’s J.P. Films. “Border 2,” produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, will release in theaters on January 23, 2026.

Speaking about his role, Varun recently revealed that playing a soldier on screen requires both physical stamina and mental discipline. “Border 2″ required a different level of physical and mental discipline, especially because we were shooting in a real location like Babina, and those conditions really put you in the shoes of a soldier. You’re out all day, often in difficult conditions, so fitness becomes less about a certain balance and more about stamina and recovery.”
