All men and women should undergo sickle cell test before marriage: Chief Minister Say

It is important to be aware to prevent sickle cell anaemia. All men and women should get sickle cell tests done before marriage. Both the sickle cell affected men and women should not get married, only then they can be saved.
Sickle cell awareness camps: Instructions have been given to the officials of the concerned department to organise sickle cell awareness camps to save the people of the tribal community of the state from sickle cell anaemia. On the occasion of World Sickle Cell Day, sickle cell blood tests must be conducted for the people of the tribal community of Chhattisgarh suffering from sickle cell disease in community health centers, sub health centers, gram panchayats and Eklavya Adarsh residential schools, departmental hostels, ashrams and other schools.
chhattisgarh news Chief Minister Sai said that on the occasion of World Sickle Cell Day, sickle cell awareness campaign is being run in the state and by making the patients suffering from this disease aware, this disease has to be eradicated from the state by 2047. The Chief Minister said that the people of the tribal community of Chhattisgarh state are mostly suffering from sickle cell anemia. For these suffering patients, awareness camps will be organized in tribal areas Bastar, Balrampur-Ramanujganj with the cooperation of Health Department and Tribal Development Department. As many people suffering from sickle cell anemia in the state as possible will be requested to take advantage of this. It is worth noting that Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has given instructions to send a proposal to the Central Government to start a national level research center for sickle cell in the state. All necessary steps are being taken to prevent sickle cell anemia.
Chief Minister Sai said that against the targeted 1 crore 77 lakh 69 thousand 535 sickle cell screenings in 33 districts of Chhattisgarh state, a total of 1 crore 11 lakh 06 thousand 561 screenings have been done. In this test, 1 crore 06 lakh 24 thousand 245 screenings have been found negative. In the screening, 2 lakh 90 thousand 663 carriers have been found and 22 thousand 672 people were found to be suffering from the disease. The Prime Minister is also serious about this disease and the target is to eliminate this disease by 2047.
