Madrid (IANS) | Local star Carlos Alcaraz celebrated his 20th birthday on Friday with tickets to the Madrid Open final. In Madrid, top seed Alcaraz beat 17th seed Borna Coric 6-4, 6-3, reported Xinhua. He won this match in one hour and 40 minutes. Alcaraz dropped his serve only once in the match while he broke Coric’s serve four times.
This is the third time that Alcaraz has celebrated his birthday while playing in Madrid. He said after the match, “It is incredible to celebrate my birthday in front of everyone. I celebrated my 18th birthday playing with Rafael Nadal. On my 19th birthday I beat Cameron Nori and now on my 20th birthday I am in the final. Every year has become special for me.
Alcaraz will take on lucky loser Jan-Lennard Struff of Germany, who beat Russia’s Aslan Karatsev 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the semi-finals in a three-set clash. Struff hit 15 aces in the match.
