Delhi Delhi. India’s fast-growing airline Akasa Air has expanded its global presence by adding Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, as its fourth international destination. From July 11, 2024, Akasa Air will launch daily direct flights between Abu Dhabi and Mumbai, aimed at meeting the growing travel demand between India and the UAE, as well as enhancing air connectivity across the Middle East.
Flight reservations are currently available on Akasa Air’s website, Android and iOS apps, and several leading online travel platforms (OTAs). The airline entered the international market with the inauguration of flights to Doha, the capital of Qatar, on March 28, 2024. In May 2024, it announced services from Jeddah, followed by operations from Riyadh in June 2024. The addition of Abu Dhabi to its network expands Akasa Air’s influence in the Gulf region and aligns with Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Strategy 2030, which aims to attract 39.3 million visitors by 2030. Akasa Air has also secured traffic rights for two more international destinations: Kuwait and Medina. The airline plans to continue its rapid global expansion in the coming months.
Commenting on this development, Neelu Khatri, Co-Founder and Senior Vice President, International Operations at Akasa Air, said, “We are delighted to introduce Abu Dhabi as our fourth international destination. With its unique attractions and strong business opportunities, Abu Dhabi has become a preferred choice for Indian travelers for both leisure and business purposes. The demand for air travel between India and the UAE remains strong, and we look forward to contributing to the growth of tourism between these two countries under Abu Dhabi’s visionary Tourism Strategy 2030.”
