Airtel is offering free data and calls for customers stranded due to floods in these States of India

Airtel is offering free data and calls service for those customers in India who are stranded due to floods. This is applicable for both prepaid and post-paid customers. The offer is available on States in North India that are affected badly by severe floods.

According to a press release by the telephone operator (i.e. Airtel), it has offered validity extension to those customers whose plans are about to expire or bill payment dates have approached (post-paid). This provision is for those States and Union Territories that have received heavy rains and were affected by floods. This includes regions like Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh.

The Airtel prepaid customers in the above mentioned region get three-day extension in their plan, if it is expiring this week. Additionally they will receive 1GB data/ day and unlimited call benefit even though they fail to recharge within these three days, mentioned a report by Gadgets360.

When it comes to postpaid and broadband customers of Airtel in the above mentioned region, they will receive three day extension on bill payments.

According to a report by Business Standard, the Indian Government asked all telecom service providers in the country to offer ICR facility in Jammu and Kashmir till September 2. It seems that Airtel’s decision to enable ICR in J&K and Himachal Pradesh is a response to the above mentioned directive.
