Tamil Nadu: Party General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami said that the special allowance of ₹5,000 was given to women due to pressure from the AIADMK.
Speaking at a campaign rally in Madhavaram, near Chennai, on Sunday, he said: The DMK has not fulfilled the promises made during the assembly elections. The DMK government has taken a lot of loans in the last five years. This government’s success is to make the people of Tamil Nadu indebted.
We will explain to the people on both sides the plans of the AIADMK during the last 10 years of rule and the DMK during the last five years of rule. I have asked Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to let the public hear their verdict. But no response has come yet. This is because the DMK government has no concern for the people. Therefore, people should consider whether family rule and heir politics should continue.
Drug trafficking has increased in Tamil Nadu. Youth are becoming addicted to drugs and engaging in criminal activities. It has reached a point where not a single day goes by without murder, robbery, and sexual assault. This government has created an environment where women and children are not safe. People should consider whether such a government should be returned.
We provided quality education, uninterrupted electricity, clean drinking water, and healthcare facilities under the AIADMK. That is why the AIADMK stands strong. We should form a similar government again.
We announced that if the AIADMK came to power, we would give Rs. 2,000 per month to the head of the family. Immediately, Chief Minister Stalin, fearing elections, gave Rs. 5,000 to women. He said that the DMK government gave Rs. 5,000 due to pressure from the AIADMK.
