Agni Sarasulo: The story of Draupadi Murmu, the lotus that bloomed in the fire

Andhra Pradesh: Visakhapatnam: Demonstrating social engagement, a sanitation worker working at Andhra University released the biography of President Draupadi Murmu on Wednesday. It was written by former MP and academician Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad. Titled “Agni Sarasulo Vikasasinchina Kamalam Draupadi Murmu,” the book compares her journey to a lotus blooming in fire. It traces the President’s journey from adversity to becoming India’s highest constitutional officer. The release took place Thursday morning under a tree on the Andhra University campus. Explaining the choice of a sanitation worker for the book’s release, Professor Lakshmi Prasad said it was a deliberate move to showcase the President’s values. He said her life story shows that greatness can emerge from even the most difficult circumstances, and that it is not just a political story, but a deeply human one. He further said that the President’s visit has been inspiring women, tribal communities and marginalized people across the country.
