After giving intoxicants to the couple, the maid ran away with the cash and jewelery

Rohtak. In Sector-14, a maid drugged a landlord and his wife and stole jewelery worth more than Rs 20 lakh along with cash. On receiving the information, police reached the spot and inspected the incident site.

During investigation, it was found that the maid had been hired only eight days ago and she had stolen cash worth Rs 10 lakh and jewelery worth more than Rs 10 lakh.

According to the police, Nirmala Sharma, resident of Sector 14, had hired a maid for household work on December 22. The maid fed intoxicants to the landlord Suresh Sharma and his wife last night and stole them from the house.

The incident came to light late in the evening when Nirmala Sharma’s daughter-in-law called the neighbor and said that no one was picking up the phone at their house. Neighbor Santosh Gupta went to their house and saw that Suresh Sharma and Nirmala Sharma were lying unconscious, who were immediately admitted to the hospital.

After regaining consciousness, Nirmala Sharma told that she did not know anything after having dinner at night.
