Afghanistan’s star spinner Rashid Khan has been ruled out of the three-match T20 International series against India, spinner Ibrahim Zadran has confirmed. The series will start from January 11.
The spinner underwent minor lower back surgery in the UK on November 24 and has been out of action since then.
“Rashid Khan is not fully fit but is traveling with the team. We hope he gets fit as soon as we can. “We will miss him in the series,” Zadran said in the pre-match press conference.
He further added, “Without Rashid we will struggle as his experience is important for all of us, but this is cricket and you have to be prepared for any kind of situation.”
At the same time, cricketers Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan have been dropped from India’s 16-player team for the series against Afghanistan.
According to reports, Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer have been thrown out of the game on disciplinary grounds. Reportedly, the selectors may not include both of them in the squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
