Cyber ​​​​thugs are cheating people by luring them with more profit through fake calls and social media messages. It is necessary to be cautious to avoid these incidents.

Method of cheating –

Cyber ​​​​thugs motivate people to invest in share trading by sending calls or WhatsApp / Telegram messages from social media accounts or fake mobile numbers. They promise more profit in a short time and the victim transfers a large amount as per the instructions of the fraudsters. Later investigation reveals that the number from which the call was made was used from a fake SIM. Fraudsters cheat people by creating fake accounts and apps on social media platforms.

▪️ How to identify fake stock trading ads:

  1. Unverified profile (✅ tick mark is not there).
  2. IPO allotment and high returns are promised.
  3. Fake videos of famous celebrities/influencers are used to mislead.
  4. There is pressure to join Telegram/WhatsApp groups.

▪️ Precautions:

  1. If you see any advertisement on unknown WhatsApp or Telegram groups, leave the group immediately.
  2. Do not trust any company’s promises of giving high profits immediately or in a short time.
  3. Do not trust the graph charts linked to National or Mumbai Stock Exchange on unknown groups.
  4. Checking SEBI registration is not enough, check the bank account or UPI ID thoroughly.
  5. While investing, transact only with verified brokers and keep checking your demat account regularly.
  6. In case of any kind of cyber fraud, immediately call the cyber helpline number 1930 so that the amount can be held in the account.

Many cases are being reported in newspapers and cyber crime police stations every day. These people show profit on your investment in hours. Initially you can withdraw money in thousands, but when the investment reaches lakhs or crores, they put more investment conditions and then do not allow withdrawal. Many such groups are also operated from abroad. Before investing, definitely discuss with your aware friend, journalist, lawyer or any police officer. Be careful and keep your hard earned money safe.
