Bijapur. The district administration’s crackdown on illegal paddy transportation and storage continues in the district. On Wednesday night, the Usur Flying Squad team seized approximately 57 quintals of paddy from a mini truck in the Awapalli area. This action was taken to prevent illegal paddy transportation during the support price procurement season. According to reports, the Flying Squad team stopped a suspicious vehicle in the Awapalli area around 8 p.m. Wednesday. The vehicle was loaded with 124 sacks of paddy. During the inspection, the driver was unable to produce any valid documents related to the paddy transportation. Following this, the administration seized both the vehicle and the paddy and prepared a formal panchnama. The district administration stated that a “zero tolerance” policy is in place to prevent illegal paddy transportation during the support price procurement season. Special vigilance is being maintained at the district’s borders and checkpoints to ensure that no illegal activity can go unnoticed. The Flying Squad team stated that illegal paddy transportation is being continuously monitored and that any negligence will not be tolerated. They stated that legal action will be taken against the accused in such cases, and the administration will act strictly.

The administration has also appealed to local residents and farmers not to engage in illegal paddy purchase, sale, or transportation. All farmers have been instructed to sell paddy only at government procurement centers and not to cooperate with any illegal brokers or smugglers. Flying squad teams and police officials stated that suspicious vehicles are being regularly checked to prevent illegal paddy smuggling in the district. Furthermore, such strict action will continue in the future. Following this action, the administration clarified that there will be no compromise on paddy smuggling in the district.

This action by the administration will not only help prevent illegal paddy transportation but will also protect farmers and the market system. Locals also praised this action, stating that it will send a strong message to illegal paddy smugglers in the area. The administration is actively working to curb the increasing illegal paddy transportation and storage activities in the district, and such investigations and actions will continue in the future. Thus, this action by the Bijapur district administration is being seen as an important step towards ensuring transparency and law-abiding compliance in the agricultural sector.
