Actress Ranya Rao Named In Ed Chargesheet Over Gold Smuggling Worth Rs 102 Crore

 Kannada actress Ranya Rao, who was arrested in a case of illegal gold smuggling, has found herself in more trouble. She has been accused of smuggling gold worth Rs 102 crore and her name is also in the chargesheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). It has been alleged that a smuggling syndicate smuggled 127 kg of gold to India in a year. The ED investigation found that their handlers and jewellers introduced it into the domestic market.

With that, the ED filed a chargesheet in the PMLA court in Bengaluru. In it, along with Ranya Rao, it included the names of Tarun Konduru, who is considered her assistant, and Sahil Jain, a gold dealer from Bellary. Ranya Rao was caught at the Bengaluru airport last year while smuggling gold from Dubai. DRI officials seized 14.7 kg of gold from her. As part of the investigation, the officials found that she had played a key role in this illegal trafficking for several years. It was revealed that she worked with a smuggling network.

Officials said that Ranya Rao would take a huge commission for smuggling gold from Dubai to Bengaluru. She was sentenced to one year in prison in this case.
