Mumbai (IANS) | Naagin 6 actress Sneha Raikar talks about the initial years of her acting career and how many things have changed in the industry from casting to work culture. According to him, there were less resources for actors and even the choice of platform was limited to a few select channels.
He said: At that time, the opportunities were few and there were only two-three channels to work with. Also, the casting process was different as social media was not in vogue then. Actors these days have so many resources which we never had. I remember taking hard copies of my portfolio to different casting directors.
The actress said that with the change in times, now actors use social media for their promotion, although it was not the case earlier. Nowadays, social media is no less than the portfolio of any actor. Many castings are done by looking at the social media profiles of the actors. And, casting is done everywhere and one doesn’t have to change one’s base for that, which was not the case with us.
Sneha has done many Marathi shows like ‘Varcha Class’, ‘Love Lagna Locha’ and many more. The actress has also been seen in a few Marathi films, and was seen in the film ‘Kutte’. Sneha shared about the changes she has seen in the industry and said: The industry has grown with time. There are many channels and other mediums available where actors can get work. The biggest option available right now is OTT, which was not there in our times. From casting to opportunities, I believe a lot of things have changed for the better.
However, the actress said that she is lucky as opportunities came easily to her: I consider myself lucky that I have never struggled for work. I got project after project and just kept working on enhancing my skills. I am happy and grateful to be a part of this industry.
