Raipur: Swine flu in Chhattisgarh has increased the concern of the health department. Six people have died in the last 15 days due to the disease. This includes four from Bilaspur and two from Rajnandgaon. More than 60 cases have been reported in a month. This includes patients from Raipur, Bilaspur and Rajnandgaon.
The health department has issued an alert in view of the increasing cases of the disease. The deans of all medical colleges and CMHOs have been asked to immediately prepare virology labs for testing the N1H1 virus. Instructions have been given to immediately recruit technicians if there is no technician in the lab.
More than 35 samples have been tested in the microbiology department of Raipur Medical College in a week. The report of three of these has come positive. Five to six samples are being tested in the lab every day. The first case of swine flu in the capital came in the first week of July. The patient from Kanker was admitted in a private hospital. He was discharged after treatment.
